Today is the 40th anniversary of Title IX. I can't believe it has been 40 years.
Some of the big accomplishments of Title IX:
06.21.97: The first game played in the WNBA.
1998: Women won gold in the Olympics in Ice Hockey. This is the first year considered as an Olympic sport.
1999: US won the Women's World Cup. Remember Brandi Chastain?
12.21.10: UCONN women's basketball team won their 89th consecutive win. The win beats Coach Wooden's UCLA men's team.
