Everyone knows that I LOVE baseball. My next favorite is college football especially the bowl selection show. I enjoy watching the show and seeing who is going to which bowl game.
This year I don't know if I'm watching it more or if social media has ruined it. I love waiting all day until the selection show to see who is going where. I have been on social media a few times today just to see what's going on, and then see all the spoiler tweets. I guess if I didn't want to know I shouldn't get on twitter.
Prior to the selection show I didn't give up hope that Iowa State would go the Buffalo Wings Bowl. Since Alabama won the SEC Championship game they will be playing Notre Dame for the crystal ball. After the game a statistic floating around was 53% of people think ND will win. NO WAY! I didn't really care which team won except that they beat ND.
On twitter during the selection show a story emerged about the LA Tech football team. They have no bowl game to go. Well they did have an invitation to go to the Independence Bowl. They turned that bid down hoping to get another bid and they didn't. On twitter the Head Coach and AD were posting how the 31 seniors deserved to go a game, and how diappointing it is. I'm sorry I don't feel bad for you coaches and AD. I do however feel bad for the players not going to play. (Sorry. I had to rant.)
Interesting fact about the LA Tech team who finished the season 9-3 is that 38 other teams with fewer wins will be going to a bowl game. I have to admit that isn't fair but to have a guaranteed bowl game a school needs to be part of good conference with bowl tie-ins.
I promise that I will be tweeting and blogging more about the Bowl games this year. If you need anything PLEASE let me know. It's like my Christmas Day for me.
