It's Friday again so that means another post on Fitness. I got the idea from the Neon Run with Heather at Brie Brie Blooms. We were talking about how we can run more on the treadmill than we could outside on the cement. I would why that is because running and running, right?
I've been training for a few runs like Pat's Run in April and Tinkerbell Half in January 2013. I'm using an app called Couch to 5K, and notice that I can run further on the treadmill than when I run outside. Does anyone know why? I wish I knew to help educate everyone.
What I enjoy about indoor running is that I can change the speed and the incline. Really who I am kidding it's indoors, air conditioning, and I watch tv. The biggest frustration with indoor running is that I can see the distance and time, which really annoys me.
Outdoor running in Arizona what is there to enjoy about it? Just playing the scenery is absolutely amazing. I love looking around seeing Arizona. The downside is I just don't feel like running.
What other things do you want me to write about? Just let me know in the comments

I think I run longer outside because I HATE my treadmill. I hate being able to see the numbers and having the same visual the whole time. On the other hand, I run longer on the treadmill at the gym than I do at home.
ReplyDeleteBeing on the treadmill though gives me the option to just stop, where as running outside, you have to make it back to your car/house. You have no options.
Weird how it is different for everyone.

I'm glad our conversation inspired this post! I get sidetracked too easily to make progress while I'm outside. I'm so goal oriented and obsessed with checking off my to do list; I would much rather run faster on a treadmill with my progress displayed digitally right in front of me.
