Opening Night 2013

Today is not only Easter , but its also Opening Night for the MLB. Tonights first Sunday Night Baseball game is the Texas Rangers against the Houston Astros. This is like Gary's Christmas Day, and my birthday. (My Christmas Day is the start of college football.) We are a house divided! I'm rooting for the Rangers while the hubs is going for the Astros.

This year we are also in our first fantasy baseball team.We had the number 1 pick in the draft. We picked Ryan Braun from the Brewers. I'm pretty excited about playing in a league this year. He is my favorite Brewer. I was so excited to go to Maryvale (Brewer's Spring Training) to see Braun and Brewer. I did NOT see either of them. It was a sad day!

Tomorrow is the 2013 Opening Day for the Arizona Diamonbacks. Gary & I got tickets for that game so expect a post soon.

Some interesting things to keep your eyes out for:

the last player with the number 42 will retireat the end of the season. (Mariano Rivera, pitcher for the Yankees)

the first season without Chipper Jones at third for the Atlanta Braves. (He is my favorite player.)

first year the Houston Astros will play in the American League.

Toronto Blue Jays are the team projected to win the World Series.

Expect lots more posts about baseball season.

  1. We are Rangers fans too as we live in the Dallas Fort Worth area and frequent the games. My husband's friend owns the Astros, so I'm pulling for them too, as long as it's not a games against the Rangers. Enjoy the season! Stacie xo
