Growing Up I never had to worry about what I was eating or working out. I was just naturally skinny. Actually way to skinny for my own good. In high school I never weighted over 100 pounds no matter what I did. I was actually picked on all through middle and high school for being too skinny. When I got to college I still really didn't have that problem. I ate whatever I wanted with no workout plan.
It wasn't until a few years ago that I started gaining weight and quickly. I would casually go to the gym, but not really work though. I noticed a small difference when we were living in Topeka, Kansas. Then once we moved to OKC we ate better. Big factor was that we were on a VERY strict budget, and didn't eat out so much. Towards the end of our time in OKC it got BAD!! The most I've ever weighted BAD!! None of my clothes really fit right so I had to buy new clothes.
Now we are in Tempe. Things started out good, but slipped again. I was back where I never wanted to be. UGH!! I just get so defeated when I step on the scale and see a little bit of difference, then the hubs gets on and it's almost double.
I need to make a change. I see different pinterest workouts, and follow them for a while then it goes by the wayside. I tried hot yoga, and really liked that a lot. It's just so expensive to continue the membership. Maybe one day, right?
So, blogger friends. What do you do to workout? How do you stay motivated? Let me know.
I just recently started to work out because I've been skinny and never had to worry about gaining weight but since I've had both my kids I did. So I decided to get into the gym and start working out. My boyfriend is my motivation because he works out with me when he can and he motivates me a lot.
ReplyDeleteI hear you girl! I actually wrote a post about staying motivated to work out on Tuesday. I try to get my work-out over with on my lunch break. The key for me is I want to get it over and done with, so I will either run a couple of miles or do a 10 minute total body work-out on YouTube. Both are free and don't take too much time.

Hanging up clothes in the size I want to be never worked for me. One thing I've done: write your current weight on a Post-It note. Then write decreasing weights (I did 5 lb increments so 175 - 170 - 165, etc) to your goal weight. As you lose pounds and hit those marks, you tear off a Post-It. And we have a Gold's Gym here. Our membership is $20 a month.
ReplyDeleteGirl, we are so similar. I was exactly the same in high school I weighed 100 lbs all through high school, and was never over 120 until I got pregnant. Now my metabolism is slower and I actually have to watch what I eat. Wah! :( My husband also put on a few after we got married (I feed him well!) so we are using each other to stay motivated. I watch the kid while he goes to the gym, then we trade. It also helps that our gym has really great classes. I really look forward to working out because doing Zumba, Hot Hula, or going to a Sculpt class is really fun for me.
