SeaLife Aquarium-Dallas Weekend

Before the season starts Gary and I like to get away before the season starts. For those of you who don't know this but my wonderful husband works for the Oklahoma City RedHawks, and baseball season is just around the corner. We try to take little trips throughout the year and through the season to stay normal. :)

We went to Dallas and Frisco area because it was close but still away from OKC. Saturday we went to Grapevine Mills Mall and went to go the Aquarium. We had a blast because we both love the water. Gary loves sharks, and I love turtles. The aquarium was a no brainer.

I highly recommend this place to anyone going to the Dallas area for a weekend. If you have kids right across the hall is Legoland. We didn't go to that but the line was long. Which Gary thought about it for a minute.

As soon as you walk in you get your picture taken. We didn't purchase the pictures but it was fun anyway. They gave you a trivia card too and find the answers around the aquarium. Even though it was designed for kids, we learned a lot through the aquarium as well.

At this certain aquarium you can also purchase a behind the scenes tour for $5. I highly recommend this because you get to see the aquarium in a completely different perspective. Depending on the time you go it can be hectic or pretty calm. We went at 1pm, which we thought was a crazy time but it was just us.

We were able to ask as many questions as we wanted. Earlier that day they added fishes so it was hectic time. We got to see them feed the fish. It wasn't how I thought at all. I figured all the fish would swarm to where the food was but that wasn't the case at all. He explained that they are on a food schedule and that each fish has a dry erase board with the times and what they ate. I never really thought about it like that before.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?
